My Artograph Lightpad A940.

Alright, finally! My Artograph Lightpad A940 arrived yesterday! I've been wanting to buy a new lightbox, but working digitally all the time feeds that little voice inside your head that, maybe you don't need it and you could use the money for more important things, like icecream and beer. But I promised myself I would, and so I did. I think this might be the best deal I've ever done!

I've always wanted to do one of those cool 'unboxing' videos, like you see guys always do on YouTube, but I haven't got time for that. so, here are some stills from my 'unproduced unboxing' video! It all started with a huge box...

The Artograph Lightpad comes in various sizes, but because I do most my drawing on standard A3 paper, I thought it would be wise to invest in a somewhat larger size, althought this does take a bigger chunk out of your wallet. There's also the A2 variant, which is the biggest, but that would just be insane!

Yay! It looked pretty awesome from the outside, and has this great high-tech sci-fi thing going on. Like I actually got hold of Luke's original lightsaber and was granted access to the Jedi Academy.

Okay, hope you can forgive the mess, it was a busy day! The Artograph comes in a soft, protective sleeve and has some assets to the right, like power chords, a manual and some silicone feet that you have to attach to the bottom.

Do you see that? That's how thin it is! Isn't that's amazing! Remember all those HUGE lightboxes in the past? Hello 2013! This is strictly LED, baby!

And there he is! It's a boy! It's much larger than A3 and fits nicely one any table in our studio. But it's lightweight, so you can easily pick it up and take it with you.

Plugged it in and with the hit of a little switch it's on! My crappy photo may not give the best impression, as the Artograph gives off more light than an average rocket Lauch at Johnson Space Center! This photo was taken in broad daylight, and you can clearly see that my funny stuff shows through the thicker drawing paper really well. Awesome! Thanks Artograph! 1. A nice specimen of light box Dave! It looks more light weight than the one I have. I hope it works well for you!

  2. It sure will! I have already ordered some extra gadgets. When my space helmet and anti gravity suit arrive I'll do a follow-up!
